Hello

Who is Girl Friday?

Jean Lachance of Stonington, Connecticut.

I took a leap of faith in December 2021 to retire early from East Lyme Public Library after 27 years of service to start my own business.

Girl Friday for Shoreline Seniors, LLC

I am licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, insured and bonded. I am a member of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and certified in Adult CPR/First Aid/AED with the American Red Cross.  My purpose with Girl Friday is to help seniors  live in their own homes as long as possible with non-medical services tailored specifically to meet their individual needs and situations.

My Story

My career change came about due to the desire to be of service exclusively to seniors.  While at the library, I created and maintained the Homebound Delivery System for library patrons and during COVID, I delivered countless books and other items to seniors in East Lyme and Niantic and witnessed their need for help at home.  This desire to help stayed with me and reminded me of my own older parents and my being "the designated daughter" living across the street and caring for them on a daily basis.
The past two years of Girl Friday have been a busy success with over 25 clients in southeastern Connecticut; it has been a rewarding experience for both me and my clients.  I have met wonderful folks who have enriched my life and who have shared their life stories with me.  Every day has been a blessing and a learning experience, and I look forward to more years of service as Girl Friday for Shoreline Seniors, LLC.
